Textract is a screen text capture OCR library. Textract captures text from a Windows screen, under control of another program. It can be used to capture text from a test application and then compare this text with the intended screen content. Textract can also be used as an application connectivity tool, to send text from another text source application, and is especially useful if the source application is a third-party, or cannot be changed. Textract is based on the Direct Klepting technology, specific Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology for recognition of rasterised text from the computer screen. Thus, Textract can capture the text from any part of any application, even from the clipboard and OLE-unaware applications, for example from folder trees, file lists, database reports, text content of messages and dialog boxes, menus, status lines, legacy systems. |
