FRX Split will extract files contained in Visual Basic Form Binary Files. (*.FRX) When you assign an image to a picture control in Visual Basic, its contents are copied to a special file with the extension of FRX. Each time you add an image or icon to your Visual Basic Form, the contents are appended to the end of this file. You can think of the FRX file as a ZIP file without compression. There are special "header" sections contained in the FRX file to indicate where one file ends and when the next file begins. FRX Split can correctly identify these header segments and "split" out all the individual files contained in the FRX file. The program will automatically identify the following file formats: ANI, AVI, BMP, CUR, GIF, ICO, JPG, WAV, RTF, and WMF. Text from combo boxes, list boxes, and long labels are also extracted to TXT files. FRX Split is an extremely useful utility to help you be more productive. It has one purpose and it does it well - extract all usable files from Visual Basic FRX files. Here are some other uses of FRX Split: * Recovery Tool - the original icon for your Visual Basic form was lost or changed. * Reuse Files - you downloaded some Visual Basic applications from the internet. Some forms contain images or icons you want to use in some of your applications but the author didn't supply the individual image files (they are only supplied on the form) Use FRX Split to extract the images, icons, etc from the FRX file to be used in new applications. (Make sure you get permission from the original author before using the files in your applications.) * Salvage Damaged Visual Basic Forms - you lost the FRM file or the FRX file is damaged. FRX Split can extract all usable files it finds in the FRX file. * Other Uses - Any thing else you can think you can do with FRX Split. |
