"Musical Coloring CD-ROM Adventures" is an interactive musical education software / coloring game for preschoolers. The software turns your computer into an interactive musical painting activity. The software blends art and music by allowing playing musical notes to paint pictures.
16 supplied images are designed to teach preschoolers musical notes and develop pitch recognition. Notes are played and sung in English, Spanish, and French. The focus of Horace Hopper's Musical Painting CD-ROM Adventures is to teach basic pitch differentiation, musical notation, playing melodies, elementary music composition, and the remarkable relationship between music and color in art.
Here's how It works: F1-F12 keys on computer keyboard represent 12 chromatically pitched notes AND a unique color. Preschoolers can print 16 different images while playing music. In addition, with each note played, the screen indicates a different color AND the correct position of each note on a piano keyboard and musical notation.
Recorded by internationally renowned soprano, each of the 12 notes in an octave can be "sung" in English, Spanish and French. Children can record the melodies, or learn note melodies interactively.
With several learning programs built-in, children can "Paint by Color", or "Paint by Music". There is even a clever program to learn and SPELL the "Words in an Octave".
