MySQL Snap is intended for creation of backup copies of MySQLdatabase or a collection of databases as well as for recovering or transferring the data toanother SQL server (not necessarily a MySQL server). This utility is fully compatible with standard MySQL utilities.
Below is the list of main functions the program realizes:
Dumping databases (creation of backup copies of databases)
Connection to the specified database or to all databases at the same time;
Saving connection parameters and keys in special files to reduce time required forconnection and parameters settings;
Choosing the necessary databases for dumping (from one database to all MySQL databases);
Dump parameters settings: setting the keys influencing the forming of result file (whichcontains MySQL statements);
Choosing the necessary tables and conditions for dumping selected rows only;
Dumping the databases taking into account chosen settings and conditions into result dumpfile containing SQL statements;
Possibility of displaying of dump process with the help of special process indicator.
Recovering databases
Connection to the specified database or to all databases at the same time;
Saving connection parameters and keys in special files to reduce time required forconnection and parameters settings;
Choosing the necessary database, where recovery will be implemented to (only if onedatabase is recovered);
Setting recovery parameters;
Recovery of one or several databases from files containing SQL statements (dump files);
Possibility of displaying of recovery process with the help of special process indicator.
The result of dumping is the file containing SQL statements and all the necessary information for recovering the exact copy of the database.
The result of recovering is the database (or collection) recovered at MySQL server. |
