Perfect Companion picks up where uninstaller programs leave off by cleaning up errors and leftover entries in the Windows Registry.
Perfect Companion includes two utilities.
The SnapShot utility takes a picture of your file system before you install an application. After an installation, Snapshot shows you any file that has been modified or replaced with an older version, as well as any file that has been added or deleted.
The Registry Cleaner utility helps remove unwanted junk from the Windows Registry. It reads all the Class ID keys, then searches for matching system files. If a file has been deleted, then the cleaner removes the associated key. It then checks for deleted files at other keys and removes invalid entries. The program then registers all remaining ActiveX and DLL files correctly. The final step is to verify all interface keys, and remove invalid ones. Any changes made with the Registry Cleaner can be safely undone at a later time. |
