Second Copy 2000 is a backup utility that copies files and folders from one location to another on the same drive, another drive or across a network. Second Copy can run backups according to a schedule. It can monitor the source files for changes or additions and then automatically copy the files to their designated destination. You can set up 'profiles', each with different schedules and source and target files. You can include or exclude specific file or sets of files from the copy and keep up to 25 older versions of files. Once you configure the profiles with your important file locations, the program sits as an icon in Windows 'system tray' and unobtrusively copies files in the background. Second Copy can be used to synchronize files between the desktop and laptop, or between two remote sites. It is also useful for distributing software to several PCs on the network. Other features include: the ability to ZIP up the destination files (using PKZIP-compatible compression), a directory synchronizing option, a log file option, scheduling, disk spanning, auto-logins, auto-dials, and background thread priority control. |
